Fun in the snow for non-skiers: Val Gardena off the piste
Not everyone can or likes skiing. That's a fact that we, as absolute piste fanatics and carving enthusiasts, have to accept. But joking aside: Val Gardena is a winter wonderland. Even away from the legendary Saslong. There are countless opportunities to enjoy the cold season to the full around the Hotel Sella. Sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth, as will anyone who wants to take it easy or longs for romance. In this article, we have put together our current highlights from the long, long list of winter activities in Val Gardena/Gröden. So: put on something warm and off you go!
On foot through the winter wonderland
As Hotel Sella guests, you can take part in many activities on the Val Gardena activity programme. The guided winter hiking tours are particularly popular with our guests. The snowshoe hike across the legendary Alpe di Siusi is an unforgettable experience. No less impressive: the guided snowshoe hike to Plan de Gralba - the panorama is a dream!
Of course, you can also start your winter hike on your own and directly from Hotel Sella - we will be happy to advise you at reception and give you important tips and advice on the weather, route and snow situation.
Endless tobogganing fun on the Raschötz
Brand new and already the favourite of all young and young-at-heart guests: you can toboggan until your runners glow on the Raschötz funicular railway. If you prefer to "earn" the fun descent yourself, there are other great toboggan runs in the region. Our recommendation: The sunny Isarco toboggan run, the slightly more challenging run in Puflatsch and the Zallinger toboggan run.
For romantics and lovers of blondes
It doesn't have to be a marriage proposal, but there are winter experiences in Val Gardena that are hard to beat in terms of romance. Maybe you should pack a ring just to be on the safe side? Because when you sit snuggled up together in a horse-drawn sleigh and glide silently over the Alpe di Siusi, your heart might just skip a beat. This is a great surprise for horse fans in particular, as the sure-footedness, strength and grace of the South Tyrolean Haflinger horses are impressive! It's not for nothing that the Haflinger horses here are called "South Tyrol's most beautiful blondes".
