World Cup, Christmas village, marvels of snow and ice: in the 2023/24 winter season in Val Gardena/Gröden, one highlight follows the next. We asked the Hotel Sella team what they are particularly looking forward to and summarised the highlights for you:

 

Romina, management: FIS Ski World Cup from 15.12 to 16.12.2023

The Saslong is calling! Val Gardena/Gröden's legendary race course has been the destination of numerous winter sports fans and ski enthusiasts year after year since the World Championships in 1970. And who knows, maybe there will be another World Championships here in 2029? Until we find out next summer whether Val Gardena/Gröden has won the bid, we are eagerly awaiting the World Cup race in mid-December. Here is the official race programme:

Matthias, Sales & Marketing: Snow sculpture competition from 27.12. to 30.12.2023

You may already know that Val Gardena/Gröden is home to particularly talented wood carvers. But when it comes to ice and snow, the skills and flair of our craftsmen are also impressive. In the days after Christmas, the municipal meadow here in Selva Gardena is transformed into a fairytale wonderland full of impressive works of art. You can even watch the sculptors create their ice sculptures and vote for your favourite in the public award!

 

Florian, Managing Director: Champagne at the Rifugio Comici

Sometimes you just want a little more. And the sea anyway. That's why a special kind of stop-off is simply part of a holiday in Val Gardena/Gröden. The Rifugio Comici is a very special hut. Here, the toilets light up and the champagne flows freely. And because only the best is good enough, you are served freshly caught fish, which is delivered daily from the Grades lagoon to the heart of the Dolomites, on pristine white damask table linen.
