Emilio Comici refuge: where passions meet

Nobody knew and loved the Dolomites as well as Emilio Comici, the most elegant mountaineer of his era as well as the name giver of our Hut. Born in Triest in 1901, he developed a fascination for speleology and alpinism early in life. In 1932, he quit his mundane existence and moved to the Dolomites, where he worked as a mountain guide. He opened legendary climbing routes and received a gold medal for his ascent of the Sassolungo north face. His life ended tragically: he fell from a rock face during an exercise in 1940.

When Gianni Marzola opened the business in 1955, fish and wine were obtained from Grado, where the Marzola family operates their own farm even today. From the start, quality was our main objective. The excitement about the culinary highlights have made the hut into what is today: The rifugio for the sophisticated. With attentive service, a sense of ambiance and a kitchen leaving nothing to chance.

The destination is reached when the blue shutters show up. The pleasure may now begin! Guests are caressed by the rays of the sun while enjoying their gastronomic delights. The spots are very popular, even early in the morning. A hot spot, even at temperatures below freezing--for sports fans, nature lovers and fine kitchen enthusiasts.
